Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
15-bedded tertiary level NICU care for both inborn and outborn neonates, including preterm babies. Facilities include non-invasive & invasive ventilation, renal replacement therapy, advanced hemodynamic monitoring, open care systems & incubators, bedside POCUS. The unit also works in close liaison with the Fetal medicine & Department of Obstetrics For a continuum of care for vulnerable babies who potentially require post birth support. Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) set up is equipped with all the gadgets required for monitoring and management of sick newborns. Babies with respiratory distress in the early stages are managed with nasal CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) and in advanced stages with positive pressure ventilation. Patients with HMD (Hyaline Membrane Disease) are administered surfactants. Facilities for exchange blood transfusion and total parenteral nutrition are available in the department.
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
12-bedded tertiary care PICU with a 5-bedded High Dependency Unit (HDU) equipped with advanced monitoring and life-support technology. The unit has a positive & Negative pressure isolation facility for different clinical needs. Facilities include non-invasive & invasive ventilation, renal replacement therapy, immunomodulation, bedside POCUS, advanced neuromonitoring and hemodynamic monitoring, bronchoscopy and bedside endoscopy.
