A radiologist diagnoses a wide range of medical conditions using imaging techniques such as X-ray, ultrasound, Doppler studies, and special radiological procedures. These help detect infections, injuries, tumors, vascular problems, and internal organ disorders.
Common signs include persistent pain, swelling, injuries, unexplained symptoms, suspected infections, pregnancy monitoring needs, or when advised by a doctor for diagnostic evaluation.
Preparation depends on the test type. Patients may be advised fasting, removing metal objects, carrying previous reports, and informing the doctor about medications or pregnancy before testing.
Radiology services include digital X-ray, ultrasound examination, Doppler studies, dental OPG X-ray, fluoroscopy, barium studies, urogenital studies, HSG, and guided interventional procedures for accurate diagnosis.
You should consult a radiologist when recommended for imaging tests to diagnose symptoms, monitor treatment progress, or evaluate internal conditions accurately.
The frequency depends on your medical condition and treatment plan. Imaging tests are usually done as needed for diagnosis, follow-up, or monitoring.
